About Dr Cary Dunne

Dr. Cary Dunne has been a dentist in the Toledo area since graduating from the Ohio State University School of Dentistry in 1977. He has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implants, and full mouth restorations. Dr. Dunne is certified in esthetic dentistry by both Case Western Reserve University and Baylor College of Dentistry. These are among the highest level courses of university-based training in cosmetic dentistry available.

Dr. Dunne has always taken great pride in providing the best dental care possible. He is very active in continuing education programs and study clubs with other dentists also driven to excellence.

Dr. Dunne feel very fortunate to have long-term team members who share his pride in excellence. Dental hygienists Susan and Martha, and expanded functions dental assistant Robin, have all been with Dr Dunne since before 1990. The best dental care requires care, skill, judgement and teamwork.

Cary Dunne has been married to Darlene Dunn since 1979. They are very proud of their two sons, Robert and Brian. Rob graduated from Denison University in 2004, with a degree in English. He was also a member of their varsity basketball team. Brian graduated from Stanford University in 2004, with a degree in physics. He was a member of their national champioship rugby team. Brian recently received his law degree from University of Chicago in 2007. All four family members enjoy competitive sports and exercise.

Dr. Dunne feels that, as a advocate for health, he should be an example of good health. Both he and Darlene are "regulars" at the gym. Cary played college basketball at City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University, and still plays full court competitive basketball. Exercise, a healthy diet, and personal and professional dental care, are all necessary to protect, and get the most out of, our gift of life.

Meet Our Team

SUSAN was our first truly gifted dental hygienist. That was 1986, and she’s been brightening our office, and our patients’ smiles, ever since. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Susan is a member of the Russell W. Bunting Periodontal Study Club, a prestigious organization of dentists, hygienist and educators dedicated to preventing and treating gum disease.

ROBIN is our Expanded Function Dental Assistant. She has worked for Dr. Dunne since 1988. After 7 years in our office working as a dental assistant, she went to Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry to be licensed to do fillings. Robin does excellent work, especially bonded tooth-colored fillings.

MARTY is our other great dental hygienist ,and also a graduate of The Ohio State University. We’ve been fortunate to have had her on our team since 1989. Marty is caring, thorough and friendly. Along with Susan, she is a member of the Bunting Periodontal Study Club, and always strives to provide the very best care possible.

PAULA is our Scheduling Coordinator, and the wonderful voice at our end of the phone who can always help. Paula has been part of our team since 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Toledo, and is in charge of scheduling, mail and phones. Paula helps make financial arrangements and deciphers insurance company information. She’s also become our computer software specialist. We really depend on Paula’s willingness to accept challenges.

EMILY is in charge of making sure we are doing our best to keep our patients teeth, gums and smiles healthy by arranging preventative and therapeutic appointments with our dental hygienists. Emily is also trained to help Paula and Jill with scheduling, insurance concerns and financial arrangements. We have been fortunate that Emily has been with us since 1999.

REBEKAH is an excellent dental assistant. She has been assisting Dr Dunne in all aspects of dental care in our office since 2003. We also appreciate her contagious smile and outgoing friendly nature.

JILL is in charge of financial arrangements, accounts receivable and working with dental insurance companies to get the most benefits for our patients. She is also very good at working with finance companies, like Care Credit, to help make excellent dentistry affordable. Jill is very conscientious about explaining our fees and payment arrangements before we start treatment.
