Porcelain Crowns

Crowns are used to strengthen teeth damaged and weakened by cavities or trauma, even if they’ve been restored with filling material. New technology has allowed us to create all porcelain crowns (without metal) that look and reflect light like real teeth. Because porcelain crowns are no longer reinforced with metal, they are no longer plagued with the familiar dark or blue line at the interface of the crown and the tooth.

Porcelain crowns can accomplish the same cosmetic concerns as veneers, but are placed over teeth that need strengthening as well.

Porcelain dental crowns are also generally used for the front teeth and are the most esthetically pleasing form of dental crown. It is also recommended for patients with metal sensitivities.

This photo is of Dr. Dunne’s talented dental assistants, Rebekah and Robin. Their pretty smiles have been enhanced with porcelain veneers.

Rebekah and Robin are exposed to the excellent esthetics and durability of porcelain every day, and wanted the same excellent care for themselves that we provide to our patients.
